Hi, I'm
Mathilde.
I’m a French teacher and I help expats and people with
French-speaking partners speak French with confidence
– in real life, not just in theory
About me
I’ve always been fascinated by languages, cultures, and the way we connect through communication.
I’ve lived in France, China, Australia, and Indonesia, and travelled to over 30 countries — experiences that deeply shaped how I see language learning today.
I’ve also learned several languages myself (English, Mandarin, Indonesian, Spanish), so I truly understand what it feels like to learn French: the hesitation, the frustration, the fear of speaking… but also the joy of finally being understood.
I’ve been there too.
Today, I’m based between Pornic and Bordeaux — and I teach online to students from all over the world. Whether you’re an expat in Paris, a professional in London, or someone with a French-speaking partner anywhere on the planet, we can work together.

I know what it feels like
Learning a language as an adult is hard. I’ve done it four times. So when you
feel frustrated or stuck, I truly get it. That’s what makes me a different kind
of teacher.

My teaching approach
I believe learning French should feel practical, human, and connected to real life —
not just memorising rules or completing exercises on an app.

Communication comes first
Lessons are designed to help you actively use French in real-life situations from the beginning: conversations, daily life, travel, work, or life in France.

Beyond apps and memorisation
Apps can help with vocabulary and consistency, but real progress happens through interaction, personalised feedback, and meaningful practice.

Structure matters too
Confidence grows when learning feels clear and supportive. Grammar pronunciation are taught in a practical way, always connected to communication.

A more human way to learn French
Learning a language should not feel intimidating or robotic. My goal is to create lessons that feel encouraging, motivating, and genuinely enjoyable.

Modern and engaging lessons
Lessons combine conversation with carefully selected materials adapted to your level : videos, audio, articles, and real-life content to help you build practical language skills naturally.

A supportive space to learn
Making mistakes is a natural part of learning a language. My goal is to create lessons where you feel comfortable speaking, asking questions, trying new things, and eventually, feel confident.
